William & Mary briefly leveled Saturday’s volleyball match with a decisive second set, but North Carolina A&T won the closing two to beat the Tribe 3–1 at Kaplan Arena.

The Tribe lost 22–25, 25–17, 20–25, 13–25 and fell to 5–10 overall and 1–5 in CAA play. The Aggies improved to 7–10 and 2–4.

W&M won seven of the first eight rallies in the second set. Later, Audrey Brcka served a four-point stretch that widened a 16–14 lead, and Regan Hill’s ace finished the set. The recovery followed an opening set in which the Tribe cut a seven-point deficit to one before A&T closed it.

The Aggies regained control by moving from 2–2 to 11–3 in the third. W&M pulled within 22–19 but could not complete another response. A&T then took an early fourth-set lead and won it by 12 points.

Sophia Van Name led W&M with a career-high 13 kills on .345 hitting. Katherine Arnason added nine kills, Shylah Swope had 24 assists and Cate Hatfield supplied 19. Avery Horejsi recorded 15 digs.

A&T hit .257 against W&M’s .176 and led kills 55–47 and blocks 10–7. The Tribe next plays at Elon on October 16 at 6 p.m. Eastern.
