Virginia Tech outlasts Syracuse in five sets, 3-2

Virginia Tech beat Syracuse 3-2 on Sunday at the Women's Building in Syracuse, New York, taking a fifth-set decider 15-11 in a match that started at 1:00 p.m. ET.

How the sets went

Syracuse took the opener 25-23, and the Hokies answered by winning the second set 25-16. The Orange won the third 25-22 to lead 2-1.

The Hokies forced a fifth set by winning the fourth 26-24. They then closed it out 15-11 in the decider.
