Boston College scored twice in the fourth quarter to turn a one-goal game into a 4-1 victory over No. 15 Virginia on Oct. 9 in Newton, Massachusetts.

Isabella Moore scored Virginia’s only goal at 8:42, answering Laila Rosenquest’s opener. Ava Meehan restored Boston College’s lead with 31 seconds left in the first quarter, and the Eagles stayed ahead for the remainder.

Virginia continued to create opportunities but could not find a second equalizer. Boston College goalkeeper Charlotte Kramer made four saves in the second quarter and six overall, according to Virginia’s official recap.

Madelieve Drion extended the lead at 47:51. Maren Boyle completed the scoring at 58:15 with an empty-net goal.

Virginia finished ahead 14-7 in shots, 7-6 in shots on goal and 5-3 in penalty corners. Those advantages did not prevent a second straight defeat, dropping the Cavaliers to 6-5 overall and 2-4 in ACC play.

The official game record lists Oct. 9 as the game date. Moore’s equalizer was her second goal of the season, but Virginia’s remaining chances went unfinished as Boston College secured its first ACC win.
