Towson turns opening-set loss into four-set win over Campbell

Towson recovered from a narrow opening-set loss Saturday by winning the next three, closing its volleyball match against Campbell with an error-free attacking set.

The Tigers prevailed 23–25, 25–16, 25–22, 25–17. The result required more than one response: Towson first reversed the match in the second set, then won a closer third before pulling away again in the fourth.

Malinah Purcell-Telefoni supplied points in several ways, finishing with 14 kills, four aces and five blocks. Anna Rice added 11 kills and Addison Leber had 10. Kaitlyn Moran recorded 30 assists as Towson’s attack found multiple options after dropping the opener.

The closing set brought those advantages together. Towson hit .429 without an attack error, limiting the free points available to a Campbell team needing to extend the match.

Towson hit .319 against Campbell’s .164 and led blocks 9–0.
