Liberty erased a two-goal deficit with four unanswered scores to defeat Georgetown 4–2 on Oct. 9 in Lynchburg. Josefina Tomasi put the No. 17 Lady Flames ahead in the fourth quarter, and Clarisa Iudicello added the final goal minutes later.

The win moved Liberty to 8–4 overall and 2–1 in the BIG EAST. Georgetown fell to 4–9 and 0–4 in conference play. Liberty’s official recap describes the comeback as the Lady Flames’ third consecutive victory.

The Hoyas created the early urgency. Laney Reiser and Adelae Chierici scored in the first quarter, forcing Liberty to chase the game. Julieta Tornati’s penalty-corner goal late in the second period cut the deficit to one before halftime, and Avery Pollock equalized in the third.

Tomasi then scored at 50:16 to give Liberty its first lead. Iudicello followed at 53:34 from Mia Santana’s assist, providing a two-goal cushion for the closing minutes.

The official box score shows a clear shift after Georgetown’s opening quarter. The Hoyas attempted four shots in the first period but only three across the remaining three. Liberty generated 11 shots in the middle two quarters while working back from the deficit.

The Lady Flames finished with advantages of 16–7 in shots, 9–4 in shots on goal and 5–3 in penalty corners. They scored on two of their three fourth-quarter attempts, making the final period their most productive on the scoreboard.

The victory rewarded a recovery that unfolded across the final three quarters rather than in one quick burst. Liberty had answered the early setback before its next home test, a nonconference game against No. 9 North Carolina.
