Dylan Randazzo scored late in the first half and Erik Jaspers stopped both Georgia State shots on target Saturday, carrying James Madison to a 1–0 win at Sentara Park in Harrisonburg.

The Dukes improved to 6–4–2 overall and remained unbeaten in Sun Belt play at 3–0–1. Georgia State fell to 6–5–2 and 0–3–1.

Randazzo entered at 30:26 and broke the deadlock at 40:54, finishing from a Daniel Bunk assist for his second goal of the season. Jaspers protected the new lead before halftime, denying David Martins Jorge at 43:45.

JMU had controlled the first-half chances, outshooting the Panthers 8–2. Chris Niblock put four attempts on target before the half-hour mark, but Georgia State goalkeeper Jackson Burrell saved each one before Randazzo supplied the breakthrough.

The Dukes finished with a 12–4 shot advantage and led shots on goal 7–2. Niblock recorded five shots, all on target, while Randazzo took three attempts and put two on goal. Burrell finished with six saves.

Georgia State’s last shot on target came from Gerber Martinez at 84:23. Jaspers saved it to preserve the shutout, and Burrell later denied another Randazzo attempt at 86:34. The lone first-half goal remained enough for JMU’s third conference victory.
