Abigail Droner converted a penalty at 84:57 Saturday, giving Georgetown a 2–1 win over St. John’s after the Hoyas had fallen behind early at Shaw Field.

Georgetown improved to 4–4–4 overall and 1–2–2 in BIG EAST play. St. John’s dropped to 3–6–4 and 0–2–3.

Kailey McCormick put the Red Storm ahead at 15:17, scoring from a Daniela Monzon assist on what proved to be St. John’s only shot of the match. Aliza Mannon answered for Georgetown at 25:35 with an unassisted goal, leaving the teams level at halftime.

The Hoyas controlled the shot totals without finding the winner until the closing minutes. Georgetown outshot St. John’s 18–1, including 10–0 in the second half, and held an 8–1 advantage in corner kicks. Six Georgetown shots were on target.

St. John’s goalkeeper Kayla Bower made four saves, including stops on Droner at 65:15 and Caroline Spengler at 76:40. Droner eventually beat her from the penalty spot with 5 minutes, 3 seconds remaining.

Georgetown allowed no further shot after McCormick’s opener. Mannon’s first-half equalizer and Droner’s late conversion completed the recovery despite the Red Storm holding the lead on their lone attempt.
