Towson visits Coppin State at 6 p.m. Eastern in the Physical Education Complex Arena. Coppin’s official preview lists a program-record 14-match winning streak, making the local nonconference meeting an opportunity for the Eagles to extend a particularly productive stretch. Towson arrives at 10–7 overall and 4–4 in the CAA. The Tigers’ attacking group is led by Anna Rice, who has 197 kills this season. Coppin lists MEAC Network coverage for Wednesday’s match.
The setting creates a useful contrast. Coppin has been winning consistently across tournament, nonconference and MEAC competition, while Towson presents a neighboring opponent with experience against demanding teams. The Tigers do not need to win a conference point Wednesday to gain something meaningful from the trip: ending Coppin’s run would be a notable local result in its own right.
Virginia Tech visits Virginia at 7 p.m. Eastern in Memorial Gym, with ACC Network carrying the match. Both teams are 1–5 in the ACC; Virginia is 5–10 overall, and the Hokies are 4–11. That makes the rivalry meeting a chance to change the direction of a difficult conference opening. Virginia’s Reese Wuebker leads the Cavaliers with 2.90 kills per set. Tech counters with Destiny Walker and Reese Hazelton, averaging 2.62 and 2.60 kills per set respectively. The teams meet again Friday in Blacksburg at 6 p.m.
Georgetown also starts at 7 p.m. Eastern, facing Villanova at Jake Nevin Field House in Pennsylvania. The Hoyas are 11–6 overall and 3–3 in the Big East after splitting their Marquette and DePaul matches. Villanova is 9–8 and 2–4 in league play. Georgetown’s Kamryn Lee-Caracci has 165 kills and a .442 hitting percentage, giving the Hoyas an efficient attacking option as they complete their three-match road swing. The Capitals host the Montréal Canadiens at Capital One Arena at 7:30 p.m. Eastern. Washington’s official NHL schedule lists Monumental Sports Network coverage for the home market.
D.C. United hosts Red Bull New York at Audi Field at 7:30 p.m. Eastern, with both clubs listing Apple TV coverage. United is celebrating Noche Latina. This is the teams’ second regular-season meeting, following a 4–4 draw in April. The home side is returning to Audi Field after its October 10 trip to Inter Miami.
The five-match slate offers an early local volleyball test, a Virginia rivalry meeting and two home options in Washington. Check each official broadcast listing for availability before the scheduled start.
