Monday’s regional notes cover college soccer honors and Washington’s farm system.
Navy men’s soccer
Duncan Sullivan was named Patriot League midfielder of the week, Keane Brown defender of the week and Will Smith rookie of the week after Navy’s 4–3 win over Army on Friday. Sullivan contributed a goal and two assists; Brown and Smith each scored.
Smith opened Navy’s scoring, Brown supplied the second goal and Sullivan later headed the Mids back in front. Sullivan also helped set up Gavin McBride’s winning goal. Brown and Smith received their first college weekly honors; Sullivan earned the midfielder award for the second time.
Navy visits William & Mary at 6 p.m. Tuesday in its final nonconference match. The official schedule lists FloCollege.
George Washington women’s soccer
Jasmine Black earned Atlantic 10 defensive player of the week and Sophia Michel received the rookie award after GW went 1–0–1. Black made four saves in Thursday’s 2–0 win over George Mason and a career-high 12 in Sunday’s 1–1 draw at Dayton, totaling 16 for the week.
Michel scored both goals against Mason and has seven this season. The awards recognize different contributions to the same unbeaten week: Michel supplied the finishing against the Patriots, while Black’s saves helped preserve the point at Dayton.
GW’s next match is at VCU at 2 p.m. Saturday on ESPN+, according to the university’s Monday announcement.
Washington Nationals prospects
Jarlin Susana earned Arizona Fall League pitcher of the week for Salt River.
He struck out eight, allowed one earned run in 5⅔ innings and reached 103.8 mph with his fastball, MLB reported.
