McIlrath off Capitals roster listing as goaltender Remi Poirier joins team

Dylan McIlrath is no longer listed on the Washington Capitals roster on the NHL Media Site, Sammi Silber reported Sunday, with the change coming as goaltender Remi Poirier joins the team.

Silber's report, which surfaced shortly before noon on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, did not include further details on McIlrath's status beyond his removal from the roster listing.

Poirier's arrival follows the Capitals' earlier move to acquire the goaltender from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a seventh-round pick. His addition to the group gives Washington a new option in net as he joins the team.

The roster shuffle lands on a game day for the Capitals, who sit at 8-4 and 10th in the Eastern Conference. Washington hosts the Minnesota Wild on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The change was reflected on the NHL Media Site roster listing, per Silber.
