Capitals acquire goaltender Remi Poirier from Devils for seventh-round pick

The Washington Capitals have added a goaltender ahead of Sunday's matinee.
The Capitals acquired goaltender Remi Poirier from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a seventh-round pick, Sammi Silber reported Sunday morning.
The move comes with Washington sitting at 8-4 on the season, 10th in the Eastern Conference, as the team heads into a home game against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Silber's report did not detail which year's seventh-round selection is headed to New Jersey or where Poirier will report within the Capitals organization.
Poirier becomes the latest addition to Washington's goaltending group as the Capitals continue their early-season schedule.
