Washington’s potential Friday game in Atlanta remains conditional: the Mystics must win Game 2 on Wednesday, September 30, to force a deciding first-round playoff game on October 2.

Atlanta leads the best-of-three series 1–0 after its 92–77 opening win. The WNBA lists Wednesday’s Game 2 in Washington for 7 p.m. Eastern on ESPN, and a possible Friday Game 3 in Atlanta with time and network still to be determined.

The league’s series preview highlights the interior matchup between Shakira Austin and Angel Reese and the perimeter contest involving Sonia Citron and Allisha Gray. Washington won two of the teams’ three regular-season meetings, but that does not erase the current playoff deficit.

A Wednesday loss would end Washington’s season and remove Friday’s game from the slate. A win would make the October 2 date a winner-take-all matchup.
