JMU women prepare for Marshall trip after five-goal Sun Belt opener

James Madison visits Marshall in Huntington on Sunday, September 27, at 3 p.m. Eastern on ESPN+. Before that trip, the Dukes host ULM on Thursday at 7 p.m.

JMU began Sun Belt play with a 5–0 win at Southern Miss on September 18. The Dukes are 3–4–1 entering Thursday; the ULM match remains unplayed at the time of this preview.

The Southern Miss performance gives JMU a clear recent example of production at both ends. Repeating that attacking effectiveness and preserving defensive organization during a two-match conference week are the next tests.

The Dukes’ previous two completed fixtures had brought a 1–0 loss at Liberty and a 1–1 draw at Loyola Maryland, making the five-goal result a substantial change in scoring. After Marshall, JMU hosts App State on October 1.
