Unbeaten Guilford Park, Howard and Oakland Mills headline county football weekend
Three unbeaten teams face Friday road assignments in the Howard County football slate: Guilford Park visits Reservoir, Howard travels to Hammond, and Oakland Mills plays at Wilde Lake. All three games are September 25 at 6 p.m. Eastern.
Guilford Park has scored 35 points in each of its three wins, most recently a 35–13 victory over River Hill. Reservoir is 2–1 after beating Atholton 23–15. The matchup tests whether the Gators can slow an offense that has produced the same substantial total every week.
Oakland Mills is also 3–0, coming off a 43–14 win over Hammond. Wilde Lake has won two straight, including a 26–21 victory over Glenelg. Friday pairs Oakland Mills’ scoring production with a host that has already shown it can win a close game.
Howard enters 3–0, while Hammond is 1–2 after consecutive defeats. Hammond opened with a 60–12 victory over Centennial but has allowed 85 points across its last two games, making its defensive response a central part of this matchup.
Glenelg visits Marriotts Ridge and Long Reach travels to River Hill at 6 p.m. Friday. Glenelg looks to recover from the five-point loss to Wilde Lake; River Hill seeks its first win after an 0–3 start.
Atholton visits Mount Hebron on Saturday, September 26, at 1 p.m. Atholton is 0–3 following its eight-point loss to Reservoir. Mount Hebron is 1–2 after falling 42–34 to Long Reach, leaving both teams seeking a response to a competitive defeat.
