George Mason beat Loyola Chicago 4–0 in men’s soccer. The Patriots scored three times before halftime and added a fourth in the second half. The official recap credits goals to Javier Montava Ortega, Martim Sereno and Kelly Janssen, with a Loyola own goal also contributing to the total.
Mason also swept GW 3–0 in women’s volleyball, winning the sets 25–22, 25–18 and 25–19. Kiera Hamilton recorded 20 kills, while Ava Cheney supplied 37 assists. The result gave the Patriots a clean sweep of the midweek local matchup.
James Madison’s women beat Arkansas State 2–0 in Jonesboro. Ginny Lackey scored both goals, one in each half, and Sofia DeCerb made three saves while playing the full 90 minutes. The Dukes’ official recap records an 18–5 edge in shots.
GW’s men drew VCU 1–1 in Richmond. VCU took the lead early in the second half, and Tomasso Lami answered for GW in the following minute after a Joe Brayson shot was blocked. Neither side found another goal.
Georgetown’s women drew Providence 1–1. Jocelyn Lohmeyer put the Hoyas ahead in the first half before the Friars equalized after the break. Reiley Fitzpatrick finished with seven saves, and the match ended level after 90 minutes.
The two Mason wins and JMU’s road shutout supplied the victories in this selected midweek group, while GW and Georgetown each earned a point.
