Tatum Thomason turned her first professional goals into a home breakthrough for DC Power.

The substitute scored twice Tuesday, including an 89th-minute header, as Power beat Fort Lauderdale United 2–1 at Audi Field for its first home victory of the season.

According to the club’s match report, Thomason opened the scoring in the 62nd minute after Emily Colton played the ball across goal. Abigail Hugh answered five minutes later, finishing from a corner to bring Fort Lauderdale level.

Thomason supplied the decisive touch when Mak Whitham sent a looping cross from the left. Her header beat goalkeeper Haley Craig, giving Power the winner shortly before stoppage time.

The breakthrough followed a scoreless first half in which Fort Lauderdale’s Kiara Locklear struck the post. Power ultimately finished with four shots on target to the visitors’ two.

After drawing 1–1 with Tampa Bay on Friday, Washington collected the home win it had been missing. Power’s record improved to three wins, two losses and two draws.

The club’s report lists October 9 against Sporting Jax as Power’s next league match.
