Capitals begin regular season with Carolina–Tampa road swing

Washington opens its NHL regular season at Carolina on Friday, October 2, then visits Tampa Bay on Saturday, October 3. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m. Eastern.

The NHL’s official schedule identifies both as regular-season games. Friday’s opener is at Lenovo Center; Saturday’s game is at Benchmark International Arena.

The consecutive-night trip gives Washington two games before its home opener. The next scheduled date is October 7 against Pittsburgh at Capital One Arena.

The league lists Monumental Sports Network for both road games. Starting goaltenders and final game lineups are not specified in the schedule and are not confirmed here.
